October 31, 2011 // Posted in friends | No Comments
Last Saturday, after the ride we had from Sesto Calende to Pavia together with some friends (among them Alessandro), we went to Bereguardo to have a dinner together with Alessandro and Luisa, and their lovely little girl Alice. The evening was great, and the pizza too. In the picture you can see also Simba, a really nice peluche, but we missed Sibilla, the real cat living at their place. Thanks for sharing with us such a lovely evening; it is always marvelous when we spend time with true friends…

Chi controlla i controllori?
It is known that, unfortunately, here in Pavia there is no respect for pedestrians and cyclists. There are too many cars, and they are in some way “allowed” to occupy also the little space reserved to pedestrians and cyclists. It is sad, but sadness increases when you observe that also who should defend them makes the same mistakes… So we had already the opportunity to take two pictures of Local Police cars parked on the bike lane…. Autunno

Here weather is still relatively hot, and the sun is always warm, but there are many indications that show us that fall time is coming. Above all the amazing colors of the nature. In the picture you can see the red leaves of a tree in the park close to our place… But fall time, although a little bit melancholy, is really interesting, and both Sacchibelli enjoy it. Coolness is exciting, after hot summer, and food too is special in fall: we love every kind of soups, mush with gorgonzola, mushroom and chestnuts… And for the summer lovers, don’t be worried. If, as we hope, Maya were wrong, it is just matter of waiting few months. Life is good, or at least it is important to find the good aspects of our lives. And when this happens, it is nice to see our lives slowly flow…

Peccato…
Yesterday the male component of Sacchibelli’s family, inspired by the female one, tried to prepare a really “photogenic” cake, a variation of the “torta marmorizzata” you see here. The zebra cake is effectively amazing, but unfortunately I took the recipe from here and I didn’t notice that the yest was missing… So the cake was looking very good, but it was flat and really bad. We will try again…

6 anni dopo

Six years after our wedding, we are here, always close, in love and happy. In the picture you can admire the last lovely orchid that entered in sacchibelli’s house, the one we grabbed at the wedding of our friends Alice and Filippo.
These six years flew very fast, but they were so strong and exciting, and although we had also to face tragic moments, we hope to pass other sixty years (or more) together.

Last Monday we were invited at a special wedding. The wedding was special for many reasons (the unusual day, the color of the bridal gown), but above all because it was the wedding among two special friends to us: Alice and Filippo (you can see them in our blog here, here, here and here. It was really nice to share with them such an important moment, and we are very happy ofr their happyness. We have also to thank Agnese, Federica, Stefano and Anchille because they shared with us the table at the dinner, and it was very funny. Have a great honeymoon now, Ali and Fil, and please come back with a lot of pictures about Peru’ and Venezuela…

Focaccia pugliese in salsa iberica
September 26, 2011 // Posted in friends | No Comments
Yesterday Carlo and Susana invited us to their place for a “focaccia pugliese in salsa iberica”. They are special friends to us, and we love to share time with them. Moreover also Fernando, Dana, Nico, Giuseppe and Antonella were invited and we spent a really nice evening. Little Marina, Sofia and Leo made the atmosphere lovely, although a little bit chaotic, and food was great. It was more than the proposed “focaccia”. We really ate a lot of great things. Thanks to eveyone for the special evening you offered us.

Segnaletica imbarazzante

Imbarazzante….
New strategies to speed up traffic in the center of Pavia are not so exciting from the pedestrian and cyclist point of view. Probably I’m a little bit biased when I deprecate such kind of choices (roundabouts, underpass for pedestrians…), for sure the implementation is often really bad. As an example, look at the road markings close to the new roundabout in “Viale Matteotti”. Right or left?

Our italo-american friends Marco and Anna moved to Grenoble last June, as we already mentioned here and this makes us happy because now we can meet them more often. So yesterday we had a dinner together here in Pavia, and it was really nice to spend some time with them. After dinner we met also Ivan and Gabry (Ivan too, at least partially, lives in Grenoble) and we went for a “gelato” to Cesare, a place that Anna didn’t know. Someone decided to eat the last “gelato” of the summer, while someone preferred to start with the first “hot chocolate” of the fall, but for sure it was a lovely evening. Thanks to all for making it so special.

This year the Festival dei Saperi is not so exciting as it was in the past, here in Pavia, probably because of the economic crisis. However something good has been proposed. Very peculiar is the “diplodocus longus” that you can see within the court of the University. It is very impressive and you can see it here in the picture with Silvia (the Diplodocus is the one in the second floor….)
