Come un anno prima

Like last year (see here) today we met our friends Alessio, Fernando, Antonio, Piero, Dana, Nico and Leo around a table, sharing a great lunch. We went to “Bar Trattoria Carelli“, and here we enjoyed great food at a convenient price. We should come back. Thanks to everyone for the lovely day.
It was raining a lot in the last period, and there were floods everywhere, mainly in the North of Italy. And this morning, the “Ticino”, our river, slownly grew up to the level of the street in the “Borgo basso”, a suggestive point of the city, very close to the river. Let’s hope that damages and annoyances will be little enough for pepole living there…

Grazie davvero.
Yesterday we went for a dinner at Ale’s and Paola’s place. Here, also Carlo and Sara joined us, and at the end we were 6 adults and 4 children. A lot of fun and a lot of noise. And a great dinner. Thanks for everything, and sorry if I missed both the “group photo” and the detail about the amazing polenta and the great budino.

This afternoon we went at Giuseppe’s and Carmen’s place, to have a nice snack together, and to play together their lovely Giulia and Lorenzo “grande”. Lorenzo “piccolo” had a lot of fun, so, we have to thank you all for the special kindness and the friendliness we feel when we are together. Thanks!!!

With a huge delay, Italy too, following a European regulation, is making mandatory the use of metering system to evaluate (and pay) how much heating energy is used by an apartment. In our region (Lombardia), such a good system is mandatory since this year, but for some unknown reason, if you don’t adopt it, you are not punished with sanctions. So, we were not able to convince our co-owners that to pay the heating we use is a good principle, which should guarantee for less wastefullness. And as a result, although we are living a really mild fall season, our common boiler (we share it with our co-owners) is fully working, with the result you see in the picture: open windows to avoid too much heating within the apartment…. Cesco

There are persons that become absolutely essential.
There are persons extremely sharp, interesting, curious, educated and free.
Cesco was the quintessence of all these qualities: the most amazing and free man we’ve ever met and, free as he lived, he passed away, facing amyotrophic
lateral sclerosis and everything that goes with it with enormous courage and irony.
As we were used to say goodbye to you…enjoy your trip Cesco!

Yesterday we went at Matteo and Vassy place to meet little Jacopo, their lovely new baby, born last July. We decided to bring them a cake, and we asked Lorenzo to help us preparing it. And he did a great job. Thanks Lorenzo!!!
