Mancavano Viola e Alice, e pure Lorenzo. Pero’ anche se non al completo, l’aperitivo coi Pesi e’ sempre un momento speciale. E anche la “bionda” Bea, pur se senza fratello e amiche, non si è di certo annoiata

We missed Viola and Alice, and even Lorenzo, having fun with their friends. But to stay with Alessandro and Luisa is always fun, and even the blonde Beatrice enjoyed, even if she missed her brother and her friends.

Non si può passare dalla Silicon Valley senza incontrare i Billas, e così è stato. Una cena a Sunnyvale, nell’ottimo “Kabul Afghan Cuisine”, a parlare di amici, di lavoro, di futuro, con non pochi dubbi e preoccupazioni. Marco e Anna in gran forma. Matteo al college in Colorado… Il tempo passa, le distanze sono enormi, ma l’amicizia resta intatta.

It is impossible to stop in Silicon Valley without meeting “the Billas”. So I did, with a great dinner at “Kabul Afghan Cuisine”, in Sunnyvale. It was a pleasure to meet again Marco and Anna, to talk about kids, our jobs, the future, and AI. See you soon, hopefully….

Di solito ci si vede solo ad Agosto, a Finale, pur abitando non cosi’ lontano… Ma questi sono i riti delle amicizie speciali e intense, consumate nel mese di agosto, e poi “parcheggiate” in attesa della successiva estate. Ma quest’anno Tommy ha fatto eccezione. E’ capitato a Pavia per una partita di basket, e non potevamo lasciarci sfuggire l’opportunita’ di riabbracciare il mitico Tommy, con Riccardo e Betty…

Tommy is one of Lorenzo’s and Bea’s summer special friends. In august they stay always all together, having fun on the beach, on the sea, playing basket or eating… then, for 11 months, no news, and the next year, again, a month all together.

But this year Tommy stopped at Pavia for a basket match, and we had the occasion to enjoy a dinner together with him, and his lovely parents Ricky and Betty.
