Grazie

These are hard times.
Irene is not with us and silence is not what we where prepared for.
Physically we are recovering from wounds, unfortunately, morally, we will have scars on our soul forever.
We would like to thank, from the deep of our heart, all the friends that have been so close to us with wonderful tact and delicacy. You have helped us so much.
Now is time to take apart our parental dreams, to remove baby clothes, to bring the stroller upstairs in the dusty attic and to come back to life that, with a lot of patience, is waiting for us outside our shell of sorrow.
We will be a little bit “bruised”, but we know that the same love which brings us together and gave us Irene is still here and, with time, will give us again the hope of joy and of a new life.

Waiting for… Irene

Manca davvero poco ormai…

Time has come and all the peluches here at Sacchibelli’s place are quite excited and waiting for little Irene. Still few days and….

Una tranquilla pasquetta

April 5, 2010 // Posted in celebrations, free time, Pavia  |  No Comments

Yesterday it was a really rainy day, but the Monday after Easter, usually called “pasquetta”, was particularly warm and sunny. Although we didn’t ride our bicycles (because of pregnancy situation), we enjoyed walking through our city reaching Ticino river and its famous bridge. And we also found a nice nutria, still sleeping in its lair

Una visita a sorpresa

April 3, 2010 // Posted in friends  |  No Comments

Here everything is going well enough, and Irene does not seem to champ at the bit and she stays inside Silvia’s belly. So we can also attend some “moderate” social event; yesterday we met our friend Federica (from Germany), now called zia Fede, togehter with Alice (zia Ali) and we enjoyed the famous “gelato” with zabaione at Cesare’s. Unfortunately Silvia had to avoid both gelato and zabaione and she tried a barley coffee… But quite soon she will have a lot of opportunities to recover…

Primavera, finalmente

March 28, 2010 // Posted in Uncategorized  |  1 Comment

Once upon a time swallows sighting was synonym of Spring time. Unfortunately there are few swallows around here so you have to take care of different signals. At Sacchibelli’s place the most significant one is when they have lunch on the balcony. And this has happened just today. Moreover today they started their famous “gelato” production too, so you can be sure that Spring time is at the end arrived here too. And turtles living in the down stairs garden agree, leaving their long hibernation…

Consegna a domicilio

March 24, 2010 // Posted in friends  |  No Comments

We had a failure at the power supply of an external hard disk and we had to buy it from the manufacturer website. We thus noted that it is very convenient to buy the LaCie Power Supply 800040from the US website (19.9 dollars); the same object is offered at 34.90 euro if you try to buy it from the italian website. We thus preferred to pay only 19.90 dollars, without any additional expedition cost, thanks to our friend Matteo (from Contafamily) who delivered at our place the hard disk power supply. Moreover this gave us the occasion to invite at our place the Binaschini too (Enea, Ilaria and Greg…), and we spent a really nice evening all together…. Thanks again for coming, and obviously we are waiting also for the rest of the Contafamily, maybe later in June.

Formaggi e geografia

March 22, 2010 // Posted in food  |  No Comments

We love almost all kind of cheeses. And we usually buy them at Giuseppe’s cheese stand. You can find him, his brother and some co-worker on Saturday (and on Wednesday) at Piazza Petrarca local market. He sells chese from almost all the italian regions at a reasonable price. Raspa (from Lodi, where he comes from) is probably his peculiarity, but we usually enjoy sheep and goat cheeses. We love also “provola affumicata”, although its origin is a little bit strange. It is supposed to be from Salerno, but the dairy is at Gorgonzola. Gorgonzola is obviously the famous cheese, but also a place close to Milano (and then far enough from Salerno). However, who cares? This provola is amazingly good, so, don’t worry….

Ciambelline allo yogurt

March 14, 2010 // Posted in food  |  1 Comment

Avete suggerimenti?

Although this is not a food-blog, we often post some food experiment (mainly done by Silvia). So we have to show you also these lovely “ciambelline allo yougurt”. They are cuter than good, but the starting point is satisfactory enough. And the target for this experiment was to prepare a special cake without too much sugar, so that Silvia could eat it . We filled them with milk cream but, obviously, there is space for fantasy. Do you have any suggestion about that? Once the recipe will be tuned, we will post it (and in the meanwhile I will have the responsibility for testing next experiments :-))

We are almost in springtime, and, as usual, I went to the office by bike….
