Le buone birre francesi

Few days ago our friend and colleauge Stefano brought to us some amazing beer, made in France (in Auvergne, in particular). It was a great surprise, and it was appreciated a lot. Usually, at work, jocking, I love to say that, when someone ask me to fix an IT or CAD issue, I would try, but I would need a beer to do that. And Stefano followed my request in a very serious way. Thanks a lot Stefano. And thanks Barbara!!!

Our friend Fernando recently bought a big chandelier and he asked us for an help in the installation. This period is quite busy and critical for us, so it was not that easy to find time for this. Moreover the installation was quite critical, mainly due to the size of the chandelier). But after roughly 4 days, you can at the end see how nice is the new chandelier…

Sembra quasi incredibile…
It happens (often) that here we criticize a lot Pavia public administration, in particular about mobility issues. But when something works well as expected, it is correct to mention it. So, as probably someone already knows, the male component of sacchibelli family is involved in some special commission at Lorenzo’s kindergarten. So I was asked to contact the public administration to fix few things (rolling shutter, internal doors) that were out of order since many months.
- I sent an email to the “Ufficio Tecnico” of “Comune di Pavia”
- I then called them, because I didn’t have any feedback. They explained me that they forwarded my request to another office
- I then directly contacted that office
- After few days a technician of that office told me that in few days they would have fixed all the issues described
- And after few days, they did it
Amazing!!!
Pedale-Maiale 2013

As every year, last weekend the male component of the sacchibelli family organized and partecipated to the Pedale-Maiale experience. It consists in a bike ride through nice places (this year the hills around Parma and Reggio Emilia), with good friends, looking for great food. We stopped at B&B “Il Tempo Ritrovato” where we met Isolina, a great and very kind lady. She cooked a fabulous dinner and we enjoyed talking with her. As expected it was a great experience, and I have to thank all my friends (Augusto, Raffaele, Daniele, Paolo, Edoardo and the new entry Massimo); they were great bike mates.

A job should make a person more inquiring and interested in what one is doing, when it becomes just something mandatory it’s time to change. So the female component of Sacchibelli has decided to change, even if her job has always to do with transistors. And now she is no more an intruder…

Profumo d’America

Donuts (and bagels too), together with the lovely Starbucks “coffee to go” are something we miss a lot, although food is one of the few aspects of Italy that does not disfigure in a comparison with USA. So yesterday we were very happy to try Peach Pit, an american style place where you can find nice donuts. They were good enough, although a bit expensive. But we definitely prefer the original ones.
Marciapiede?

Here in Italy, and @ Pavia in particular, we (pedestrians and bicycle riders) have to survive and fight against too many cars. The room is not enough for all, and it is sad to note that the arrogance of many car drivers is too much tolerated. So it is common to see some situation similar to the one I taken in the picture: the sidewalk is crowded of car illegally parked, and a pedestrian with a stroller is forced to walk on the street… What a sadness….
Visite svizzere

Last Sunday Cesare and Maria, our friends living in Switzerland (@ Neuchatel, in particular) visited us, and this was a great surprise. They already came at Sacchibelli’s place in the past (see here) but we didn’t see them since longtime (and up to now we only promised them that we will visit them in Switzerland…) and the afternoon we spent together was really nice. Their babies (Emma and Lucia) were missing, but there were Luisa and Paolo too (and it is funny that, with the exception of Luisa, all the other met in some way at University of Pavia and/or at STM). So, thanks for coming and next time, once Lorenzo will grew up a little bit, at the end we will visited you in Neuchatel.

After Lorenzo and Silvia are back home, we are all together and very
happy. Many friends of us are visiting sacchibelli’s place and this is again a great evidence of how much Lorenzo (and us) are loved. We can’t enumerate here all the persons that came to meet Lorenzo, but for sure we can thank you a lot. Your friendship is touching. Among the many visitors, we were delighted by the presence of Marco, Anna and Matteo, our Italy-USA-France friends. You can see them in the picture.
