Nuova casa operativa

Benchè il trasloco sia un’operazione piuttosto complicata, ha richiesto meno di 24 giorni. Purtroppo però la Telecom ci ha messo del suo, per cui solo ora siamo operativi anche dal punto di vista ADSL. E possiamo tornare ad aggiornare il blog.

Ecco una foto della sala, presa dalla stessa posizione di quella del 13 marzo. Qualche miglioramento è apprezzabile (almeno spero).

Although to move to a new house is quite complex, it didn’t take 24 days. Unfortunately Telecom Italia didn’t work very well and we received the ADSL in the new house only today. Eventually we can update our blog. Here there is a picture of the living room that you can compare with the one posted on March the 13rd (24 days ago). We hope that you can appreciate the improvements.

Quasi pronti

Manca solo un giorno al tanto sospirato trasloco. Ecco come appare oggi la sala. Finalmente in ordine, anche se ancora deserta, e con un lampadario a dir poco provvisorio.

We are almost ready to move to the new house. The day after tomorrow we will be there. Here you can see the living room, eventually clean, although still empty.

Cassata

Come Raffaele e Luisa hanno già fatto notare, il nostro blog è spesso ricco di eventi gastronomico-alimentari. Per non smentirci ecco la straordinaria cassata di donna Beatrice, che, con il celebre Colonnello, forma una coppia spettacolare.
Cassata tanto bella, ma soprattutto eccezionale.

Colazione

Ieri sera Silvia ha preparato delle ottime frolle in due versioni: con marmellata e con nutella.
Stamattina la colazione è stata particolarmente gustosa…
Anche Felix, il coniglietto di casa Sacchibelli sembra apprezzare.

Yesterday in the evening Silvia cooked very good “frolle” together with jam or nutella. This morning our breakfast has been particularly tasty.
Felix, the Sacchibelli’s rabbit, appreciated it too…

Pasticceria Colicchia

Come tradizione, anche quest’anno abbiamo organizzato la spedizione di dolci tipici siciliani dalla mitica Pasticceria “Colicchia” di Trapani.
Così ci stiamo gustando gli ottimi cannoli con ripieno di ricotta e cioccolato, gli ericini (dolci alle mandorle), la frutta martorana e l’incredibile cassata. Alla faccia dei nostri amici “americani” che ci leggono attraverso il blog.

As usual, also this year we have ordered tipical sicilian sweets from the famous Pasticceria “Colicchia” inTrapani.
So, we are eating very good “cannoli”(full of sweet ricotta and chocolate), wonderful “ericini” (based on marzapan), “frutta martorana” (again marzapan based) and the incredible “cassata”. And obviously we are thinking to our “american” friends and their hamburgers….

Nei week-end si continua a pitturare alla nuova casetta. Ed ecco anche una foto esclusiva di Gaetano Mangiarotti, detto l’uomo-tornado, il mitico muratore che ha ristrutturato di tutto di piu’.

During week-end days we keep on paiting the new house. And here is an exclusive picture of Gaetano Mangiarotti, a famous mason, , called the “twister man”, who renovated a lot of things in the new house.

Stasera Colin e Michela sono passati a trovarci; Colin doveva prendere dei libri in italiano, ma ne abbiamo approfittato per mangiare qualche biscotto, bere del mirto e soprattutto l’ottima idrolitina.

Tonight Colin and Michela went at our place because Colin was looking for italian books. We also took some cookies, we drunk good mirto and, above all, idrolitina water.

Ecco mio fratello che finalmente e’ venuto a ritirare i “due o tre” salmoni surgelati che erano ospitati nel nostro congelatore….
Erano da noi dalla vigilia di Natale, allorche’ Marco e Francesca hanno “svaligiato” l’Esselunga, approfittando degli sconti.

Here you can see my brother Marco that, at the end, after a month, came to take the “few” salmons we had as guest in our deep freezer. Marco and Francesca bought a lot of fish because of the Christmas “Esselunga” discounts, but they didn’t know where to store it

Ecco la splendida torta salata (con asparagi del Cile) preparata da Silvia. Torta non solo bella, ma anche buona….
Peccato che tramite blog non si possa assaggiare.

Here you can see the beatifull “asparagus” (from Chile) cake made by Silvia. It was not only nice to see, but also very good. Unfortunately you cannot taste it through the blog…
