Come forse sapete, siamo appassionati di Gnu-Linux, tanto che l’abbiamo installato su tutti i PC di casa sacchibelli. La distribuzione che preferiamo e’ Ubuntu. di cui da poco e’ uscita la versione 9.10 (detta Karmic Koala). La cosa carina e’ che, oltre che essere liberamente scaricabile (e’ la bellezza dell’Open Source…), e’ anche possibile chiedere che venga spedita a domicilio (sempre gratuitamente) un CD ufficiale. Abbiamo cosi’ compilato l’apposito form ed ecco che, dopo poche settimane, il CD e’ arrivato. E ci piace citare qui la frase scritta sul retro della cover: Ubuntu is an ancient African word which means ‘Humanity to others’. As you know, we like Gnu-Linus OS, and in fact we are all our PCs running Ubuntu, one of the most famous distribution. Few days ago version 9.10 was released (it is called Karmic Koala) and we already moved to that. As you know Ubuntu can be freely downloaded (it is Open Source), but an interesting thing we read on Ubuntu web site was that it is possible to order (always for free) a physical CD. So we filled the form and after few weeks, as you can see from the picture, we received it. On the back of the cover there is a phrase that fully describe Ubuntu spirit: Ubuntu is an ancient African word which means ‘Humanity to others’.
