La nostra vita sociale procede sempre piu’ intensamente, e ieri sera siamo andati a cena dal Colonnello e dalla Sig.ra Beatrice. Abbiamo gia’ parlato di loro parecchie volte (qui e qui, per esempio) ed e’ sempre piacevole per noi condividere dei momenti con loro. La signora Beatrice ha cucinato una cena straordinaria: come antipasto abbiamo avuto delle ottime polpette di melanzane, assieme a peperoni al forno e fiori di zucca fritti; poi, come primo, delle travolgenti fettuccine alla bottarga e poi, per restare sul tema, dell’ottimo tonno grigliato. Il tutto accompagnato da ottimo Verdicchio di Jesi.
La cena si e’ poi conclusa con un’inimitabile bavarese alle fragole, preparata sempre dalla Sig.ra Beatrice. E’ difficile spiegare a parole quanto sia stata squisita la cena, ma nonostante questo, l’aspetto piu’ piacevole della serata e’ stato trascorrere del tempo con degli amici speciali come il mitico Colonnello e sua moglie, l’altrettanto mitica signora Beatrice. E nella foto di gruppo si sono aggiunti anche Raffaella e Giorgio, rispettivamente figlia e nipote di questa speciale coppia.
Our social life goes on, and yesterday we went for a dinner at Colonnello’s and Ms. Beatrice’s place. We have already mentioned them many times (here and here, for example) and it is always nice to spend some time with them. Before leaving for their vacations, Ms. Beatrice cooked an amazing dinner for me and Silvia. As appetizer we had “polpetta alle melanzane”, oven cooked peppers and fried pumpkin flowers. You can see them in the first picture, and they were really good. Then we had “fettuccine” with botargo. No words to explain how wonderful they were.
Then grilled tuna with some salad. Fantastic!!!! And we concluded with a strawberry bavarois, obviously hand made by Ms. Beatrice. There was good wine to drink with (Verdicchio di Jesi) and this made the dinner perfect. But although everything was extraordinary, we really enjoyed to stay with these special friends.
