I primi caldi arrivano, e qui, non potendo rinunciare all’irrinunciabile caffe’ (tra l’altro abbiamo da poco comprato una nuova macchina espresso decisamente cool, la De Longhi E680), ecco che ci divertiamo a preparare e gustare un buon caffe’ shakerato, con l’aiuto di un barman davvero speciale, il piccolo Lorenzo.

Summer time is coming, so sometimes we go for an iced coffee. Lorenzo is very happy to help us in its preparation. And the coffee, thanks also to the new espresso coffee machine, is very good.

E’ questo un periodo decisamente intenso, e l’ultimo weekend, oltre che intenso, e’ stato anche un po’ faticoso. La domenica e’ andata meglio del sabato, riempita dai sorrisi di Lorenzo, ma la stanchezza si fa sentire. Ma all’orizzonte, prima che la componente femminile di casa sacchibelli si possa riposare, si erge maestosa una montagna di panni da stirare…

In the last week we are feeling a little bit tired, because of many things are happining. The ones related to Lorenzo are usually nice and cute, but at the end of the weekend we usually feel ready to sleep. But before the female component of sacchibelli house will reach the bed, there is a huge mountain of laundry to be ironed…

Era da un po’ che qui a casa sacchibelli si pensava all’ebook-reader come a un oggetto interessante. E in continuo sviluppo. La tecnologia piu’ recente e-ink pearl ha una resa davvero impressionante, e cosi’, in corrispondenza degli ultimi compleanni, ci siamo regalati a vicenda un e-book reader. Ovviamente, per filosofia, la scelta e’ caduta su e-book che leggessero il formato aperto e-pub, evitando cosi’ i prodotti Amazon. Ora disponiamo di un sony prs-t1, e di un recentissimo kobo glo, addirittura retro illuminato. Il piacere di sfogliare un libro di carta resta unico, ma la comodita’ e le prestazioni di questi e-book reader ci hanno convinto che, per almeno certi tipi di libri, la carta ha fatto il suo tempo…. E i libri elettronici sono decisamente piu’ compatti.

After some investigation, we decided to try the ebooks. Most modern ebook readers show very impressive performance, and at the end we decided for two models that support e-pub, the sony prs-t1, and a brand new kobo glo. We know, the real books are more fascinating, but for many kind of books, their electronic version is good enough. And this allows us to save more room, and to bring ebook with us very easily.

Siamo nella nuova casa ormai da tre anni e mezzo. Ed e’ cosi’ giunto il momento di sostituire alcuni lampadari dichiarati “provvisori” in fase di insediamento. Quello della sala, di carta, che potete vedere in questo post in effetti non era particolarmente bello. Siamo cosi’ lieti di mostrare, in anteprima, una foto della nostra sala col nostro nuovo lampadario. Un po’ strano forse, ma a noi piace parecchio. E tutto sommato e’ questo che importa.

We moved in this house roughly three years and a half ago. It is thus time to substitute the “provisional” chandelier we installed in our living room and that you see in this post. In the picture you can see the new one, maybe a little bit strange, but we like it a lot.
