Come forse vi ricordate, qui a casa sacchibelli e’ capitata spesso a trovarci la nostra amica mantide. L’abbiamo fotografata qui, qui e qui. Cosi’ quando abbiamo visto planare questa simpatica cavalletta sui nostri ciclamini, e’ venuto spontaneo pensare che abbia saputo dalla nostra amica mantide che qui poteva trovare un approdo sicuro. E cosi’ e’ stato.

As you know there is a mantis that usually stops at our place to relax a little bit. We posted its pictures here, here and here. So, when we have seen this nice grasshopper staying on our new cyclamens, we realized that maybr it was following a suggestion from our friend mantis. And probably it was also try to send us greetings from the mantis, but we don’t understand its language

Devono essersi schiuse le uova lasciate da qualche insetto (qualcuno sa di che insetto si tratti?), e oggi abbiamo trovato un bel gruppo di pseudo-coleotteri zampettare intorno a un fiore caduto sul nostro balcone. Da piccoli sono anche simpatici…

This morning we found a lot of small insects going around a flower fallen on our balcony. Probably a beetle left many eggs and the baby-beetles came out just in these days. When they are young they look nicer…

Circa un anno fa (“Uno strano ospite”) avevamo avuto la simpatica visita di una mantide religiosa; evidentemente deve essersi trovata bene da noi e deve aver fatto buona pubblicita’ di casa Sacchibelli. Cosi’ ieri sera abbiamo avuto la gradita visita di un’altra mantide (un po’ piu’ piccola). La foto al buio non e’ stata agevole, ma alla fine siamo riusciti a immortarlarla in modo decoroso.

Roughly one year ago (“Uno strano ospite”) we discovered a mantis on the balcony of out apartment and it was quite cool to take a picture of it. Probably that mantis was excited of that experience and suggested to some other mantis to visit us. Here at sacchibelli’s animals are not a common topic in our posts, with the exception of the crazy amigurumi created by Silvia. However today we post a video we took from our balcony about a turtles fight. At the ground floor there is a nice garden with a bunch of turtles, and few days ago two of them were fighting each other. Someone says that it is a kind of wooing courtship, but to us it seems quite “violent”. Is there any expert among our readers?

La mantide gia’ era venuta a trovarci (vedi qui), ma stavolta e’ tornata e si e’ lasciata fotografare piu’ da vicino senza troppo protestare. La coccinella gialla che si ammira allo specchio e’ invece un inedito per casa sacchibelli; evidentemente non solo gli amici, ma anche gli insetti ci trovano ospitali.

A prayng mantis already came to visit us, but yesterday she returned allowing us to take better pictures than before. A new guest was the yellow lady bug looking at itself through the mirror. Quite interesting. It seems that sacchibelli are hospitable not only with friends, but with insects too.
