Viviamo tempi sospesi, ormai da parecchio. La pandemia evolve, ritorna, sconvolge. Per ora il virus ci ha solo sfiorato (bimbi in isolamento per focolaio a scuola, ma quarantena superata senza sintomi), e alla luce di tutto il disastro (sanitario ed economico) che ci circonda, non possiamo certo lamentarci. I bimbi, sorprendentemente, sembrano affrontare con il consueto entusiasmo tutte le (poche) proposte che, con queste condizioni al contorno, si riesce ad offrire loro. Stiamo aggrappati alla scuola, per ora, e nei weekend internet si conferma comunque uno strumento tremendamente potente. Cosi’ abbiamo partecipato, con gioia, a una lezione su come si prepara il salame di cioccolato, magistralmente tenuta online dalla nonna di Pietro, un compagno e caro amico di Lorenzo. We are dealing with this tragic pandemic since many months, and we don’t see yet a clear light at the end of the tunnel. However, considering the medical and economical disaster around us, we still feel lucky. Hopefully both Lorenzo and Bea are enjoying all the stimuli we are able to provide them, with today boundary conditions. During the week to have open schools is for sure helpful, compared to last spring situation. And during the weekend we try to have fun all together. And internet is obviously a power “tool”. So we learned from “Nonna Rosy” how to prepare a lovely “salame di cioccolato”. The course was virtual, but the “fun” was real. Thanks!!!
Quest’anno, a causa della situazione contingente, e comunque essendo in isolamento fiduciario, niente “dolcetto o scherzetto” per Lory e Bea. Pero’ una soluzione di backup è stata trovata, e coi compagni di Lorenzo, via Zoom, ci si è divertiti con una caccia al tesoro un po’ particolare, che è piaciuta molto. E che ha portato un bottino decisametne abbondante.

Purtroppo la pandemia di Covid-19 e’ ritornata, con la sua seconda ondata, anche qui in Italia. Si sapeva che ci sarebbe stata, ma si nutriva la speranza che fosse meno violenta. Cosi’ non e’, e inevitabilmente, chi direttamente, chi indirettamente, tutti ne verremo colpiti. Il primo della famiglia a finire in quarantena (fiduciaria) e’ stato il buon Lorenzo. Una sua maestra e’ infatti risultata positiva, purtroppo, e tutta la classe ora e’ a casa. Diciamo che per ora Lorenzo sembra non troppo sofferente per la situazione…
At the end it happened. With the sad increase of Covid-19 infections here in Italy, we have the first element of the family formally in quarantine. One of Lorenzo’s teacher is positive to Covid-19, and all the students have to stay at home for at least 10 days. We all hope that the infection will not be too much symptomatic for the teacher. In the meanwhile it seems that Lorenzo is looking great, having a lot of fun in the room where he is living now…
I capelli biondi da surfista, progressivamente schiariti dal sole del mare, avevano raggiunto una lunghezza quasi imbarazzante. Così, anche se non completamente convinto, Lorenzo si è convinto di andare dal parrucchiere…
This summer his hair became blonde because of the sun, and he started to be similar to a surfer. But today we have been able to convince him that it was time for an haircut… And we will have to wait for next summer to see him blonde again.
Probabilmente non raggiungerà i livelli del papà che, in età da liceo, pedalo’ da casa a scuola (3 km nel traffico cittadino) senza mai toccare il manubrio. Pero’ anche Lorenzo promette bene…
Probably he will not reach his father level (he rode his bike from home to school, for 3 km, without hands), however Lorenzo is showing good skills.
Dopo circa sei mesi e mezzo, finalmente, le scuole sono ripartite. Tra mille incertezze, rigidi protocolli e la consapevolezza che siamo ancora dentro una pandemia molto complicata, il sorriso di un’emozionata Bea al suo primo giorno di scuola, e la felicità di Lorenzo per poter rivedere i compagni, sono stati una buona iniezione di ottimismo. In bocca al lupo ragazzi!!!
After more than 6 months, at the end, schools opened again here in Italy. With a lot of doubts, some concerns, but also with a lot of enthusiasm, with Bea at her first day, and Lorenzo ready to see his teachers and mates. Good luck!!!
