In questi giorni di freddo intenso sia io che Silvia rimpiangiamo il fatto che qui non si usi andare in giro con una bella tazza di caffe’ o cappuccino caldo, come invece e’ prassi negli Stati Uniti. Pur amando il caffe’ espresso, insomma, ci piacerebbe se ci fosse Starbucks; probabilmente questo nostro desiderio mai si concretizzera’, a sentire quello che dichiara il fondatore di Starbucks (vedi qui), ma ieri, passeggiando per il centro, abbiamo notato un’interessante cartello con scritto “Tea to go” esposto sulla vetrina di un piccolo negozietto dal nome gustoso, La Maison d’Epice. Un po’ per la curiosita’, un po’ perche’ eravamo ibernati, siamo entrati e con nostra gioia ci e’ stata servita una tazza di ottimo te al gelsomino nel classico bicchiere di carta alla “Starbucks”. Che dire, ci si accontenta di poco, ma l’effetto e’ stato davvero piacevole.

We love italian Espresso, but we miss a lot also Starbucks and in particular the habit to walk around with a cup of hot coffee or cappuccino, as it happens in USA. Unfortunately Starbucks will never open any store here in Italy (see here), but hopefully yesterday we found an interesting shop, called La Maison d’Epice just in the center of Pavia. And this shop was offering a cup of hot (and good) tea to go. This was great because we were walking (and freezing) through the center, and that cup of hot tea was really helpful. Waiting for Starbucks, we will repeat the experiment
