In queste settimane di smart working, con i bimbi a casa da scuola, il tempo libero è meno del solito, ma ci consideriamo comunque molto fortunati. In qualche modo abbiamo trovato un nuovo equilibrio, mentre il mondo tutto intorno vacilla. E nel weekend Silvia riesce anche a cimentarsi in qualche nuova specialità gastronomica, come questo meraviglioso “no knead bread”. Eccezionale…
In these weeks we are living in our apartment, and although we are lucky enough to be able to do smart working, it is also hard to be able to work and to be close enough to Lorenzo and Bea in the daily routine. However, we are trying our best, and during the weekend we are also able to find some spare time to try some experiment, like this lovely “no knead bread” prepared by Silvia. Very good.
In queste settimane di clausura, ormai l’unico modo per evadere, immaginando di poter viaggiare ancora per il mondo, e’ attraverso il cibo. Cosi’ oggi i sacchibelli sono di fatto volati in Messico (dove peraltro non sono mai stati), con un pranzo texmex, con tortillas, chili, guacamole e nachos

In questo periodo cupo, con tutte le preoccupazioni e le incertezze generate dall’epidemia di corona virus, le maestre d’asilo di Bea ci hanno mandato un racconto sulla resilienza, e ci hanno chiesto di “leggerlo”. Lo condividiamo.

Il Corona virus Covid-19 è arrivato in Italia ormai da settimane a stravolgere le nostre vite. Mentre il paese cerca di resistere grazie ai suoi nuovi eroi, i medici, il personale infermieristico, le forze dell’ordine, il personale che lavora nei supermercati, nelle farmacie e in tutte le attivita’ indispensabili che devono restare aperte per non far morire il paese, noi viviamo chiusi in casa, preoccupati ma al tempo stesso fiduciosi che un futuro ancora radioso sia dietro l’angolo. E in questo nuovo equilibrio, anche alcune delle attività dei bambini, hanno ripreso, seppur in modo virtuale. Così Lorenzo ha appuntamento bi-settimanale con i suoi compagni e le sue maestre attraverso il portale weschool, prosegue le sue lezioni di chitarra attraverso video-chiamate whatsapp con la sua maestra, e Irene, la maestra di ginnastica di Bea, invia video sui nuovi esercizi da fare. Vedendo tutto questo, non resta che pensare che, alla fine, andrà tutto bene.

The arrival of the corona virus Covid-19 in Italy too is radically changing our life style. While our new heroes (doctors, nurses, but also pharmacy and supermarket staff, together with all the other people forced to work to maintain the county alive) are, in different ways, fighting against the virus, we need only to re-think our life style, living in the apartment as much as possible (the adult male component is the only one allowed to go out, weekly, to go to the superstore). It is not a big deal, compared to the tremendous pressure that this virus is causing. And, thanks to internet, some of the Lorenzo’s and Bea’s activity are still on-going…
Da un anno e mezzo, col nuovo lavoro della componente maschile adulta di casa sacchibelli, era arrivata anche l’auto aziendale, dai bimbi battezzata Bob. Finito il periodo di leasing, oggi Bob e’ stata restituita, e abbiamo salutato l’arrivo della sostituta, gia’ battezzata Bib. Decisamente grande e comoda. Ciao Bob, benvenuta Bib.

With the new job, roughly 1.5 years ago, a new car, called Bob, joined the family. Today, at the end of the leasing, a new one was provided (called Bib) was provided to us, while we had to return Bob. Although Lory and Bea were sad because they liked a lot Bob, they love Bib too.
In queste settimane così cupe e preoccupate per l’evoluzione dell’epidemia di corona virus, abbiamo ricercato pace e tranquillità nell’amata Finale Ligure. Nonostante il cielo un po’ grigio, e’ stato un weekend rigenerativo. Ed e’ stato bello percepire che, almeno la’, almeno nei weekend, tutto sembra scorrere normalmente

We decided to go to the seaside, stopping at Finale Ligure, a place we like, to find some relax and some quiet day, in this hard period mainly dominated by the corona virus diffusion across Italy. And we had a really nice weekend… Let’s hope that soon life will come back to the normality.
